29th October 2015.

I woke up at 6.30 in the morning and took my bath as usual. It was a very exciting day for me since I am going for the opening of the first H&M outlet in Ipoh. Me, my sister and Fikri who is a friend of mine went for the opening early in the morning. Frankly, the journey to Aeon Klebang is quite far. It took me around 20 minutes to arrive at the mall. We arrived at 8am.

I parked my car in front of the main entrance of the mall, which also happens to be the H&M's main entrance. When I stepped into the mall, there were already some people lining up for the opening. I thought that we were among the 150 people but when we received our number tag, surprisingly, we were among the 50 early birds.

During the lucky draw, my luck was behind me. I didn't win any lucky draw drawn by the host of the event but I don't mind, as long as I got my RM50 voucher, I am fine with it. In case you didn't know, there were 3 prizes for the lucky draw which were RM100 Voucher, RM200 Voucher and RM500 Voucher.

The experience of lining up for an opening is quite exciting. There were loads of people when the clock strikes 9. Well, Since we were one of the earliest, we got bored easily. I started playing some video games while listening to Demi Lovato's Confident album while waiting in line.

I Snapchatted some videos and pictures just to kill some time.

When the clock strikes 10, it is official. The first H&M outlet has open for good. When I first stepped into the store, the vibe was different. I didn't feel like I was in Ipoh, I felt like I was in Kuala Lumpur instead. I roamed around in the Men's Section with Fikri, searching for some clothes to try. I grabbed some t-shirts, jeans, shirts, joggers, sweatshirts and many more along the way. Funny thing was, me & Fikri was the first person to ever hit their dressing room.

I helped Fikri on choosing his new jeans and gave him some styling tips while choosing his clothes. While I was busy searching for my clothes, my sister thought that sweatshirts would be her new clothes in her wardrobe so she got two different sweatshirts and put it into her shopping bag.

Surprisingly, me and Fikri only went into the dressing room for only 2 times, something unusual for me by the way. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to snap some mirror selfie because I was so focused on finding the clothes I need. I'll show you guys what I bought from the opening event.

Before we went in line to pay for our clothes, all 3 of us took 2 bags each, full of used clothes that I brought from home and donated to H&M. In return, we got 2 15% Discount vouchers for each one of us. Thank god, I managed to save my cash up to RM80 from the opening because I used the RM50 voucher and used both of my 15% Discount card.

Let's delve into what I bought from the store.

Basically, I bought three different items which are the Black cap, a new Black Slim Fit Jeans and also a new White Button-Ups.

The total cost for all the items were actually RM198 but after deducting all the vouchers I've used, I only paid for RM118, which for me, is a great deal.

The first item, the Black Cap.

I have been looking for the H&M's plain black cap for a long long time. I always go on their app and screenshotted this particular cap but whenever I go into the H&M outlets in Kuala Lumpur, none of them seems to be available. When I went to the Accessories section in the Men's Section, I saw the black cap and quickly grab it before anyone else could. Fortunately, this was the only black cap available in the store so even though my luck was not there for the lucky draw prize, I am glad that this time, I manage to grab this black cap. This particular black cap costs me RM24.90.

The next item is a White Button-Ups. When I was in college, I realised that I have no white button-ups. If you didn't know, white button-ups is a basic necessities for Men to have in their wardrobe. When I saw these button-ups, I took it and try it right away. I was happy that this button-ups is an easy iron item so it makes ironing easier for me. This button-ups are also available with different other colours. This particular button-ups costs me RM49.90. I used my 15% Discount card on this item, thus it's RM42.40.

The last item that I bought was this Black Slim Fit Jeans. I actually have this one already but this time, I tried on a one size smaller than my usual size. When I tried it on, it fits me perfectly so I put it in my shopping bag. As for this one, the price was RM119 but after I used my 15% Discount card, the price was reduced to RM101.15.

The total price for all the items were RM193.8, after deducting my 15% Discount cards and also my RM50 voucher, I paid for RM118.45. A HUGE DEAL RIGHT?

Well, my advice is that if there's a new H&M store going to be opening soon in your are, mark your calendar, and attend the event. YOU'LL SAVE A LOT OF MONEY FOR YOUR PURCHASE.

Before you continue reading this, I am not a fashion expert but what you're going to read is all the things that I know on how to style yourself as minimal as possible.

Pop quiz: What is minimal?

Often people think minimal is just wearing something simple. For instance, a plain white tees with a blue jeans and slippers. Well, that is called Simple not Minimal. Yes, you are wearing a minimal amount of clothes but the look will be all sloppy and it will look untidy. What Minimal really means is that you pair up your clothes with the similar colour tones.

Main question is, how to style yourself minimal? Minimalistic style comes with different kinds of perspective. Some say that wearing Monochromatic outfit is already Minimal, some say otherwise. But everything depends on your way of styling your clothes.

First, all you have to have is a clothes that is plain and clean. Wear something bright with the same colour tones. Adding an item that holds an opposite colour of your major clothes will add the elegance of your outfit. For instance the picture below, the model wear a brown sweater with a beige stripes in the middle added up with a simple yet clean beige trousers. To spice the outfit, the model wears a black pair of shoes.

Next step is layering. Once you've chosen your clothes to wear, choose a staple piece that will enhance your outfit. It could be a denim jacket, a leather jacket, a bomber jacket, a trench coat or anything that works with you. The layering piece or as I call, Third Layer, doesn't necessarily need to be the same colour as all your clothes that you're going to wear. Wearing something that is bright and vibrant will eventually adds the taste of elegance.

The model above has incorporate cream with red velvet. Well, you can taste the sweetness of the outfit, right? Just look at how minimal his outfit is. As I've told, wear something that is bright and vibrant - like that moto jacket. The outfit looks perfect with the moto jacket rather than looking dull.

If you're the person who loves to incorporate prints with your outfit, then, worry no more. Any print can be paired up to make a minimal outfit as long as the colour sticks to the same colour palette. For instance, if you have a dark floral shirt, you can pair it with a plain black slim fit trousers. In case if you want to spice up the outfit, try putting on a coat over your dark floral shirt. As for shoes, try to go for a more darker colour.

As for the outfit above, the model paired up a black grid shirt with a black slim fit trousers. The slim fit trousers add the silhouette to your legs and it makes you look slimmer. In case if the weather is quite cold or windy, wearing a third layer  is a good move.

Imagine this, tomorrow, you're going to have a big interview for a job that you applied, probably in a fashion magazine as an editor so what are you going to wear so that you can impress all the interviewers? The first thing that you should know is that you should wear something that will impress everyone else without being too exaggerating with your clothes.

Look at the outfit above. It is simply minimal without putting too much effort even though it incorporates with a few different colour tones in an outfit. If you're wondering, accessories play an important role in enhancing your outfit. As for the model above, wearing a sunglasses has added the sophisticated look to the outfit itself and yes, it helps to guard your eyes with all the UV rays projected by the Sun.

What if you're a teenager and you wanna try to wear a Minimal outfit during your outing? Well, if you're the kind of guy who loves wearing sporty outfit, then incorporating black and grey is a perfect choice! For instance, the model below is wearing a dark grey beanie with a black hoodie. As for the pants, pairing up a grey sweatpants is a good move - especially when the sweatpants has been distressed on the knees.

Lastly, if you're the kind of guy who loves to rock a blazer, then you'd probably want to wear a basic tee under your blazer. Pair the top with a skinny jeans so that your outfit will look a bit grungy but still has the essence of Minimal. If you think that that's too boring, try wearing a wide brim Fedora as an accessory. It will definitely complete your look effortlessly.

For an example, the model above wore an all black outfit. The outfit was spiced up with a wide brim fedora. The distressing on the skinny jeans has enhanced the look to be more grungy but yet still holds the Minimal effects to it.

There are definitely a lot of ways to style yourself minimally even if it means that you're going to incorporate with different tones of colours within an outfit. Nothing could go wrong if you love to try and explore your own style. Believe me, it's not that hard to be a Minimalist. But bear in mind that everything has its own limitation. Putting too much prints would go wrong as it is distracting to everyone. Wearing too much layer sometimes could go wrong too if the colour doesn't match. But everything is worth a try.

How To : Minimal

Well hello! How are you guys doing? As I am writing this post, I am currently having my final exams so I am quite busy with my studies and sleep (because we need enough sleep so that our brain can function well during exams). As for this week, I'm showing you guys all of my favourites for the past month of September.

Well, let's hop into my first category which is hairstyling. This month, I've been using this particular clay from Uber Men and it's the Uber Men 3D Matte Clay. Why have I been using it? I've found that wearing clay to style your hair will make your hair looks fantastically classy with its Matte effect. One particular thing that I love about this clay is that it's semi-waterproof. Imagine wearing a clay for a whole day and when you get into the shower, it's hard to take off all the clay from your hair (I've had that experience before so that's why I changed my hair clay). Other than that, this hair clay gives out this soothing fragrance. It smells a bit of charcoal (since it's grey in colour) with a tiny bit mix of Lemon. It doesn't gives out that strong smell, though.

Next category is Music. So for the month of September, I've been listening to Troye Sivan's new album, Wild. My favourite tracks from his album are WILD FOOLS and EASE (feat. Broods). If you didn't know who Troye Sivan is, then let me explain a little bit about him. Troye Sivan is an Australian Youtuber. He makes song covers and talks about lifestyle. He is also an advocate in the LGBT Community. Basically, his sound of music is alternative but not the Lana Del Rey's version of alternative, instead, it's his own version of alternative. Why don't you check out all of his songs? Oh yes, currently he has 2 music videos out from his Wild album which are WILD and FOOLS.

I don't think I am loving anything from my wardrobe but there's this one particular footwear that I've been loving throughout September and it's my first ever boots!

Yes, You've probably seen this boots in my previous post. If you haven't read it, go and read it now you silly. Anyways, I got this boots as a birthday gift from my dad (I told him that I want to buy a pair of boots and he got me as a birthday gift!). The boots are from a UK clothing brand, Firetrap. The original price was RM659 (i guess) but apparently, my dad managed to get it for only RM269! The things that I am obsessed with this boots is that the leather. The leather feels surreal. It is a high quality leather and upon wearing them, it feels comfortable. As you might know, some boots might feel a little bit off while wearing them but let me assure you that this Firetrap boots feels awesome!

Next and the very last item that has been my favourite since I first bought is a scented candle, Black Teakwood by Bath & Body Works. I bought it when I had my daytrip to Kuala Lumpur last August. When I walked into the Bath & Body Works outlet in Nu Sentral, I was in awe. All of the candles there smells so good. When I first entered, I had no specific candles in my mind to buy so I had to ask the promoter to help me. As I was sniffing almost all of the candles, I found this Black Teakwood very special. It has this very distinct aroma, a very woody and have that a squeeze of lemon fragrance. It's quite different from the others. As I am writing this, my scented candle is probably at home in my room. Sadly, there's probably 15% left so I have to use it wisely before I make another purchase.

Those are the items that I am obsessed for this month. I don't think I have anything else that I am obsessed with. If any of you guys have any suggestions on anything that I should try, leave a comment down there in the comment box. In case if you guys want to connect with me apart from reading this blog, you guys can check me out in my social medias. All the links are in the side bar.

Before I go, tell me, what are your favourites?

See you guys next week!
