The Body Shop Youth Cream Review

I was in the market for a new moisturiser and night cream. Previously, I use a drugstore moisturiser which is L'Oreal Men Expert Acno Striker Moisturiser and my skin improved a teeny tiny bit. I was not happy with my cheeks because the blackhead scars are so annoying.

A month ago, I stepped into The Body Shop store in Aeon Station 18. I was trying to linger around by my own self until one of their sales associate a.k.a "beauty advisor" approached me and recommended me their cream which now I use it as a moisturiser.

Enough rambling, let's go on to the technical bits whether it's a yay or nay.

The Body Shop went out with their product line which is Drops Of Youth line. In this line, they have a few different products ranging from moisturiser, night cream, under eye cream to many other skin care products (here for more).

I've decided to jump in and try on their Youth Cream. Basically, this cream can be used as moisturiser - durh, because it is a moisturiser. Personally, I use this cream as both moisturiser and night cream. Before we go on the intricate details, let's talk about the price. This Youth Cream is available in all of their stores and now available online and it retails at RM145.

WHAT? Yes, a god freaking RM145 for a moisturiser. Before you mouth the WTF letters, let me break it down to you. This product is in a tub form and contains 50ml 1.7 OZ in a single tub. Imagine using this every single day before you step out from your house, the cost per wear is relatively cheap. The beauty advisor claimed to me that one tub can hold up to 6 months of use and it really depends on how much you put it on your face every single day. So let's take RM145 and assume that one tub holds up to 6 months before it empties, so

RM145/6 = RM24.17 per month.

and that for me, is quite cheap for a moisturiser - & i am still trying to convince myself that it is a cheap according to cost per wear because who thinks RM145 moisturiser is cheap?

I have been using this moisturiser for exactly a month now and it's not even a quarter empty yet. This is a good news!

Now, let's go on to their Holy Grail ingredients. This Youth Cream consists of 3 different Plant Stem Cells which are Edelweiss from The Italian Alps and Sea Holly & Criste Marine from The Brittany Coast. What these 3 plant cells do to your skin is that they hasten the rate of skin regeneration and enhance your skin cells while fixing the flaws on your skin.

How it have helped my skin ? Throughout the past June, I can clearly see a lot of difference on my cheeks. My blackhead scars have reduce up to 60% but my pores, I see no difference. It might tighten my pores when I apply the product on my face but I see not much difference. Other than that, I've realised that my skin has been a bit brighter than before. Yes, it did claim to have some whitening process along the way and at the same time, I can see my skin started to show some glow and I love it.

Overall, I'll definitely recommend all of you to try this product and see the differences by your own eyes. It's not a revolutionary product but it does its job in fixing your skin. I have to agree that the price is really high up there but once you try it, you'll be obsessed with it.

My claim, it's a YAY.
